Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Bermuda Transfers. By making a booking through www.bermudatransfers.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Bermuda Transfers is a trading name of Bermuda Transport LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (company number 10613172, incorporated 6 May 2026).
1. What Bermuda Transfers Is (and Isn't)
Bermuda Transfers is a booking and matchmaking platform. We connect customers who need an airport transfer with independent, licensed Bermuda taxi drivers who choose to accept the booking.
We are not a taxi company. We do not own or operate vehicles, and the drivers who fulfil your booking are not our employees, agents, or contractors. They are independent operators licensed to provide public service vehicle transportation in Bermuda.
When you book through us:
- We collect your trip details, calculate a fare, and take payment.
- We broadcast the booking to drivers on our platform.
- A licensed Bermuda taxi driver accepts and fulfils the trip.
- You receive the driver's first name and vehicle license plate before pickup.
The transportation contract for your trip is between you and the driver. Our role ends at making the introduction and handling the payment.
2. Driver Licensing and Vetting
All drivers on the Bermuda Transfers platform are licensed to operate a Public Service Vehicle in Bermuda. Licensing, vetting, background checks, vehicle inspection, and ongoing fitness to operate are the responsibility of the relevant Bermuda government authorities — principally the Public Service Vehicles Licensing Board (PSVLB) under the Motor Car Act 1951, with vehicle inspection administered by the Transport Control Department (TCD).
We rely on these authorities and the licenses they issue. We do not independently verify driver background, criminal history, driving record, medical fitness, or vehicle condition beyond confirming a driver holds the appropriate Bermuda license. Concerns about a driver's licensing or fitness to operate should be directed to the PSVLB.
3. Booking and Payment
All bookings must be made in advance through our website. Payment is collected in full at the time of booking via our payment processor (Stripe). The fare you see at checkout is the total fare for the trip, with no further amounts due to the driver.
Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. Check your spam folder if you do not receive one within 15 minutes.
4. Driver Assignment
After you book, your trip is offered to drivers on our platform. Once a driver accepts, you will receive their first name and vehicle license plate number by email. We recommend you confirm both before getting into the vehicle.
If no driver accepts your booking before the scheduled pickup time, your booking will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund automatically.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your booking free of charge up to one (1) hour before your scheduled pickup time using the cancellation link in your confirmation email or by contacting us directly.
Cancellations made less than one hour before scheduled pickup, and no-shows, may be charged up to 100% of the booking value.
If we are unable to fulfil your booking — for example, because no driver accepts — you will receive a full refund within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.
6. Flight Delays and Changes
For arrival transfers, we use the flight number you provide to track your flight. If your flight is delayed, your assigned driver will be notified and the pickup adjusted at no extra charge, provided a valid flight number was entered at booking and the delay is reflected in official flight data.
If your flight is cancelled or significantly rescheduled, contact us as soon as possible. We will pass changes to your driver where possible, but rebooking is subject to driver availability and is not guaranteed.
7. Your Responsibilities
To make sure your trip goes smoothly, you agree to:
- Provide accurate pickup details, destination address, passenger count, and luggage count at the time of booking.
- Enter your correct flight number for arrival transfers
- Be ready at the designated meeting point within a reasonable time of your flight landing
- Confirm the driver's first name and license plate match the details we send you before getting into the vehicle.
- Take the same sensible precautions you would when travelling with any taxi or private hire driver anywhere in the world.
- Contact us or your driver promptly if you have any difficulty making the connection.
We are not responsible for missed pickups caused by incorrect or incomplete information you provide.
8. Waiting Time
For arrival transfers, drivers will generally wait up to 60 minutes after your flight has landed (as tracked by our system). If contact has not been made within 60 minutes, the driver may leave and the booking will be treated as a no-show.
If you anticipate a delay (e.g., extended customs processing), contact your driver or our support team as soon as possible.
9. Luggage and Vehicle Class
Each booking specifies the number of passengers and luggage items. We offer two vehicle classes:
- Regular — up to 4 passengers
- Large — up to 7 passengers (priced at 1.5× the regular fare)
If your party exceeds the capacity booked, the driver may decline to transport some passengers or luggage. We reserve the right to decline transport of items that are hazardous, oversized beyond the vehicle's capacity, or otherwise unsuitable.
10. Conduct
Drivers may refuse service or end a journey without refund where a passenger's behaviour is abusive, threatening, intoxicated to the point of safety risk, or otherwise endangers the driver or others. We support drivers in these decisions.
11. Liability
This is the most important section. Please read it.
Because Bermuda Transfers is a matchmaking platform and not the transportation provider:
- The transportation service is provided by the licensed driver, not by us. Any claim arising out of the conduct of the driver, the condition of the vehicle, the manner of driving, or anything that happens during the journey is a matter between you and the driver (and, where relevant, the driver's insurer and the Bermuda authorities).
- We make no warranty about the driver's punctuality, conduct, route choice, vehicle condition, or driving standard beyond confirming they hold the required Bermuda license at the time of booking.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, flight delays, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control, nor for missed connections, flights, appointments, or other consequential losses.
- We are not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal property in the vehicle. Take your belongings with you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Disputes With Drivers
If you have a complaint about a driver — punctuality, conduct, vehicle condition, route, fare dispute about a journey we did not price, or anything else — please contact us at hello@bermudatransfers.com. We will do what we reasonably can to help, including passing complaints to the driver, refunding the platform fare in appropriate cases, and removing drivers from our platform.
For matters concerning a driver's licensing or fitness to operate as a public service vehicle in Bermuda, the relevant authority is the Public Service Vehicles Licensing Board.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bermuda. Any dispute arising under these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bermuda.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Bookings made after the revised date are governed by the updated Terms.
